On September 21, the War Childhood Museum will mark the International Day of Peace (World Peace Day) with a series of educational and interactive activities designed to promote peace and understanding. The program aligns with the official theme of the United Nations (UN), Cultivating a Culture of Peace, recognizing education as a key tool in building lasting peace.

Throughout the day, the museum will host activities that focus on educating children and youth about the values of peace, unity, and creative expression. With a large number of children affected by conflict globally, the museum’s program aims to foster dialogue and learning through engaging, hands-on activities.

The day’s events will begin with the Creative Reading Workshop: “Seeing Peace Through a Magical Eye” at 10:00 AM. Participants will be encouraged to explore the power of imagination in challenging times, drawing inspiration from the storybook Magical Eye. Through reading, discussion, and drawing, children will reflect on the significance of peace in their own lives and the lives of others.

In the afternoon, the museum will host the Storytelling Workshop: “Voices of Peace”, which invites participants to write and share personal stories that focus on peace, mutual understanding, and their unique experiences. Young people on the move from the temporary reception centers Blažuj and Ušivak will join the workshop, fostering a deeper sense of community and dialogue.

Throughout the day, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, visitors can participate in the Scavenger Hunt: “A Group of Happy Dolls”.

Entry to the museum will be free for children, youth, and students throughout the day.

We invite you to join us on September 21 to engage in these educational activities and reflect on the significance of peace in today’s world. The War Childhood Museum looks forward to welcoming you!
